Please join us in congratulating 2026 Pike High School graduate Cameron Blue, who celebrated earning the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 56 on October 11, 2026.

His project included building and installing two wooden benches and cleaning the meditation garden at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana. Cameron led a group of 23 volunteers who put in 143 hours of work to complete the project.

According to the organization, Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of Scouting America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.

Prior to break, Central Elementary School hosted a Fall Family Fun Night. Families traveled to different activity stations, where they enjoyed engaging in hands-on activities alongside their children. Students and families practiced reading fall-themed words, sentences, and texts, designed their own pumpkins, created playdough, and explored math concepts by estimating and rounding numbers as they guessed the number of objects. They also enjoyed safe trick-or-treating, dancing together, and participating in a sensory dig with their scholars. The evening included delicious fall-themed snacks, such as apple nachos and dirt-and-worm pudding treats.

Dr. McGee shared, "Our staff loved engaging with so many families and sharing in the excitement as students and parents learned, played, and made special memories together. It was a fun-filled celebration that brought our school community together and highlighted how learning can happen anywhere, even during a little fall fun!"

The Board had the privilege of presenting Niashja Howell with the Superintendent's Above & Beyond Award.

College Park Elementary School's Principal, Mr. Aaron Botsford, shared, "Ms. Howell is College Park Elementary’s Superintendent Above and Beyond Award Winner. She is deserving of this recognition because she teaches far more than just curriculum in the life skills classroom. She provides the foundational tools for independence while working to further prepare our students for life outside of College Park. She is able to break down real-world tasks into achievable steps, which ensures success is achieved by all of her students. Through endless patience and creative adaptation, she turns every school day into a day that ensures all students leave her classroom ready to navigate the world with self-worth and pride."

Following its annual food drive, Cub Scout Pack 830 volunteered at the Pike Red Zone Food Pantry on October 5th.

Brandy Morris, who helped facilitate the effort, shared that it was extremely impactful for the scouts to develop a better understanding of the impact of their efforts by serving as volunteers at the Red Zone Food Pantry.

A quick and important reminder for our Pike families!

While all students currently receive free meals, completing the Household Income Form is still essential.

This form does so much more than help ensure continued meal benefits—it directly affects our ability to secure funding for programs that benefit all students across the district, from discounted internet access in our schools to funding that directly supports learning.

It can also help your family qualify for valuable benefits like college exam fee waivers and scholarships.

Help us support all of our students; please complete your Household Income Form today:
