Save the Date: 2026-2027 Back to School Nights

Pike schools will host their Back to School Nights from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:

All Pike Elementary Schools: Tuesday, August 25th
All Pike Middle Schools: Wednesday, August 26th
Pike High School & Pike Preparatory Academy: Thursday, August 27th

Please save the date & watch for additional information from your child's school.
 
2026-2027 Pike Red Zone Food Pantry Flyer
Our Pike Red Zone Food Pantry will host a curbside distribution from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10th, outside the main entrance of the Pike Freshman Center (6801 Zionsville Road).
 

RoboDevils to Host Community Open House

The Pike High School Robotics team, the RoboDevils, is opening its doors to students, families, friends, and Pike Staff!

Guests will have an opportunity to meet the team, learn what they are doing, and discover more about what robotics means to Pike.

When: Aug 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

2026 Sisterhood Basketball Camp

Our Pike High School Lady Red Devils are thrilled to announce that former WNBA player and Pike High School Class of 2001 standout Nina Stone will serve as the Lead Trainer for our 2026 Sisterhood Basketball Camp!

This is a unique opportunity for young girls to learn from one of Pike's all-time greats. Nina competed at the highest level of basketball and is returning home to share her knowledge, passion, and experience with the next generation of players.

Whether your daughter is just beginning her basketball journey or wants to continue developing her skills, this camp will focus on fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and having fun in a positive environment.

Spaces are limited, and registration must be completed by August 15 to guarantee your camp T-shirt.

Attendance Matters

Did you know that achievement is directly related to academic learning time?

Missing just 2 days of school a month means a child misses 10% of the school year. This has the potential to impact their ability to read well by the end of 3rd grade, pass important classes, stay on track for graduation, and earn their degrees.

Please report student absences in writing to your child's school office and visit our website to learn more about attendance matters.

STATE LAW:

  • 5 Unexcused Absences: Public schools are required to hold an attendance conference not later than 10 instructional days (instead of five instructional days) after the student's fifth absence.
  • 10 Unexcused Absences: Public schools are legally obligated to send legal notices regarding a student's truant status and file a referral with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office after the 10th unexcused absence.

What We Can Do & How You Can Help:

  • Report Everything: Always report all absences to your student's school in writing with a reason.
  • Stay Proactive: Make school a priority. Stay engaged, help your children maintain daily routines, and try not to schedule dental and non-urgent medical appointments during the school day.
  • Support System: We are here to help! We miss your child when they are absent from school. Counselors and Social Workers can provide necessary resources and support.
  • Communication: The school will inform you of your child's attendance status via notification letters when they reach 5, 9, and 10 days of unexcused absences.

Indiana University K-12 Student Success Corps is hiring part-time tutors/mentors to work in Pike Township Middle Schools.

Candidates will provide academic support to middle school students in English Language Arts & Math and support students' social and emotional growth.

New State Law - SB 78

Indiana Senate Bill 78 was signed into law by Governor Mike Braun and took effect July 1, 2026. The law requires every public school and charter school in Indiana to adopt a wireless communication device policy that restricts student use of cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, gaming devices, and similar devices for the entire school day — not just during instructional time. This is often called a “bell-to-bell” policy.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR CHILD:

Building on our district’s “Power Down for Success” initiative, student devices will be stored as follows during the school day:

  • Elementary School: Designated classroom location
  • Middle School: Locker
  • High School: Backpack
Devices should be powered off before the school day begins and may be used again after dismissal.

The law allows exceptions for students who need a device to manage a documented medical condition with an order from a licensed health care provider, for translation needs, or when otherwise authorized by school administration.
