Project AWARE
Pike Township is a proud recipient of the federal Project AWARE Grant that is helping to Change the Frequency of how mental health education and awareness are practiced in schools and communities statewide.

- Access to school-based supports using Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. regardless of medical insurance status.
- Proactive approach to identify students who my need additional support using a self reported universal screener.
- Conduct parent survey aimed at gauging awareness of available resources and services to support student mental health and wellness.
- Engagement workshops for parents and student to attend.
- High school student athletes and their parents can submit referrals to arrange meeting with mental health coach.
- Established a partnership with the IU School of Social Work, ensuring the availability of interns across all elementary schools.
- Access to on-site therapist in person at transportation department and via telehealth.
- Mental health and wellness survey conducted to determine needs.
- Discounts on physical fitness classes and/or activities in partnership with local gym.
- Reset & Recharge Rooms in every building where staff members can take a break, decompress, and rejuvenate during the workday.
- Provide classroom resources to advance mental health supports through Change the Frequency campaign.
- Spring Mental Health Fair to bring awareness to resources and organizations in the Pike Township area.
- High School Bring Change to Mind club to spread awareness at games, school events, fairs, etc.
