The MSD of Pike Township has updated its quarantine practices to align with the latest Indiana Department of Health guidance, which only applies to masked individuals in the classroom setting. Masks will continue to be required indoors for all students, staff, and guests. A letter of notice will be sent home to each student, attendee, or employee who has been identified as a close contact but allowed to continue to be in school.
Masked individuals are not required to quarantine and may continue to attend school as long as they are asymptomatic when identified as close contacts. The close contacts should monitor daily for symptoms of COVID-19. Any symptoms of COVID-19 will prompt immediate removal of the symptomatic individual from the school environment. The individual will be required to isolate for 10-days and may only return early with a negative COVID-19 test from a healthcare provider. This exception to quarantine only applies in the classroom setting and does not apply to high-risk activities such as athletics, performing arts, and other extracurricular activities.
