The World Language Department at Pike High School offers courses in French, German and Spanish. The various course offerings give students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and to appreciate the richness of cultural difference. As students build linguistic proficiency and gain more cultural exposure, they will be prepared for future educational pursuits and careers beyond the classroom.
As students advance through the courses, they can earn college credits through different programs, including Dual Credit, IB (International Baccalaureate), and AP (Advanced Placement). The curriculum of the World Language Department aligns with the Indiana State Standards and focuses on the five C’s in language education – communication, cultures, connections, comparisons and communities.
