NAN participated in the I Love to Read challenge by WISH TV, and one of our 6th grade students, Devon Forrest, won the 6th grade category receiving his $1,000 savings  bond award for reading more than 2500 minutes during the months of January and February. Mrs. Jackson's class and Mrs. Clanin’s class competed to see who could read the most minutes to help motivate them to keep reading. Mrs Jackson's students read a grand total of 69,421 and Mrs. Clanin’s 7th grade class read 163,567.

The annual New Augusta North Student Activities Awards Presentations will take place in the cafeteria and auditeria on Wednesday, May 30. All students who successfully completed a season as a member of one of our athletic or academic teams or as a member of a cheerleading squad will be recognized at this program, and they and parents and other family members are invited to attend. All of these students will receive participation certificates. Additionally, awards will be presented to the Mental Attitude winners for each 8^th grade team. Everyone attending will be eligible to receive one of the many door prizes on hand.
