Read, write, and explorethree building blocks focused on this year at Fishback Creek Public Academy. Students successfully demonstrate the use of these traits in all facets of the various subjects covered daily.

Fishback Creek Public Academy

Fishback Creek students learn to solve the problems of real-life and real work, in a technology-rich, brain compatible learning environment. They thrive in a setting based on research about how learning is best imprinted in young minds. The curriculum, designed with an emphasis on Math and Reading, encourages critical thinking skills, investigation, and inquiry-based learning. These experiences emphasize core concepts and strong basic skills that are essential to a child’s ability to handle academic and life challenges. Preparing children for life and work in the 21st century requires that we create schools in which students do work instead of just view work.

Experience CCRA

The sentiment for our educational system is clear: Every student should graduate from high school ready for college or a career, and that every student should have meaningful opportunities to choose from upon graduation from high school. Indiana’s Department of Education’s (INDOE) has echoed this objective, and is why we start looking at the performance of our students as early as elementary and middle school; to see what we need to do in order to fulfill this sentiment. As a result, the INDOE has designed an interactive tool specifically geared for use by parents, students, and teachers called the Experience College- and Career-Ready Assessment (CCRA). The “Experience CCRA” consists of sample test questions that students will see in grades 3-8 on ISTEP+ beginning this spring. Click here to access and see firsthand the CCRA.

Pike's Anti-bullying Initative

In all MSD Pike Township schools, our students are held to anti-bullying policies from the time they are at the bus stop in the morning until they leave the bus stop in the afternoon. As a district, it is our goal to ensure every students safety, and to make all students aware of the resources available if they are a victim of bullying, and to know they consequences of being a bully. Please take a moment to watch the district’s video on anti-bullying and discuss it with your student. Click here to view the video.
