Welcome to the Pike Township Educational Foundation
Our mission is to enhance the educational experience of every Pike student by providing resources for innovative, high quality approaches to education.
The Pike Township Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, was organized in 1993 to enhance the education of Pike students through scholarships and grants for teacher-driven projects. Since 1993, more than $104,000 has been awarded to graduating Pike seniors, over $155,000 has been used for teacher recognition, and over $300,000 has been awarded in grants. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation is a separate entity from the Pike Township Schools and its Board of Education. Although the Foundation is separate from the school district, the Foundation’s sole purpose is to augment public education in Pike Township. It is self-supporting through founding members, fundraisers, corporate sponsorships and private donations. The Board of Directors is made up of Pike parents, retired Pike educators, and Pike business owners.

FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES
Treasures for Education Dinner and Auction
Usually held in February, Treasures for Education is a semi-formal dinner and auction evening event. The event includes both a silent and live auction. It has been one of our most successful fund-raising efforts, with hundreds of items are auctioned. All proceeds benefit Pike Township students.
Fore! Education Golf Outing.
Our annual Golf Outing is usually held in June at The Golf Club of Indiana. All proceeds from the golf outing go toward the Foundation’s programs to benefit Pike Township students. Please join us for a fun-filled day of golf, including delicious food and great prizes! Corporate sponsorships, foursomes, and individual players are welcome.
Education License Plates
The Bureau of Motor Vehicles offers a specialized license plate that will benefit the Pike Township Educational Foundation. Just select the “Committed to Education” license plate featuring the nationally syndicated cartoon character Garfield and $25 of the $37 fee will directly benefit the Pike Township Educational Foundation to support programs in Pike schools.
Employee Payroll Deduction
Hundreds of employees of Pike Township schools generously contribute a portion of their paychecks each pay period to support Pike Township Educational Foundation programs that benefit Pike students. The Employee Payroll Deduction Program allows employees to have a monthly donation automatically deducted from their paycheck. Even a small amount per employee per pay period makes a big difference by enabling us to greatly increase the amount of grant and scholarship funds we have available for distribution to Pike teachers and students. Visit our Web site for up to date information on how your favorite school rates on participation in the Payroll Deduction Program. Contributions are tax deductible.
Individual Donations and Corporate Sponsorships
The Pike Township Educational Foundation has developed important partnerships with several local corporations including Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Gibraltar Design, The Skillman Corporation, and Herff Jones, Inc. These companies and individuals recognize the importance of the Foundation's work and have generously made long term financial commitments to our cause. Other companies have been generous donors to specific programs and events, including Sam's Club, Teachers Credit Union, Esco Communications, and Hylant Group of Indianapolis. Individual donations also help to fund our programs through both long-term commitments and one-time donations. Some individuals donate to the PTEF in honor of a loved one or an important event. Please help support the Pike Township Educational Foundation programs that benefit Pike students. We now accept donations from our Web site. Donations are tax deductible.
HOW WE BENEFIT OUR STUDENTS
Pike's Greatest Students
The Pike's Greatest Students program is a way for parents, grandparents, and relatives to tell their Pike student why they think he or she is Pike’s greatest student, and to help support the PTEF at the same time. For a minimum contribution of $5, a card with a special personal message and a small gift will be given to a Pike student at school during the last week of the semester. Proceeds from the Pike’s Greatest Students campaign will benefit Pike students through grants for teacher-driven projects, student scholarships, and teacher recognition. Out of town relatives can sign up for Pike's Greatest Student online from our Web site.

HOW WE BENEFIT OUR TEACHERS AND EDUCATORS
Celebrations Teacher Awards Banquet
Each spring, the Celebrations Teacher Awards Banquet recognizes teachers for excellence in service to Pike Township Schools and its students. Guests are treated to an elegant dinner, door prizes, live music, and raffle items. New grant recipients are announced, and PTEF honors an outstanding Pike teacher with the Champion Teacher Award. The PTEF also awards a check in recognition of the Teacher of the Year, a distinct honor given annually to a certified teacher who is nominated and selected by his or her peers.
Champion Teacher Award
Each year, the Pike Township Educational Foundation accepts letters of nomination for the “Champion Teacher.” The award winner must exemplify excellence in education by motivating and inspiring Pike students to exceed their goals. One-page letters of nomination are accepted from Pike students and/or parents, and are due in April. The Champion Teacher Award winner is presented with a special gift and a check at the annual Celebrations Teacher Awards Banquet.
Honor Roll Program
If you’re looking for the perfect teacher gift, look no further. The Honor Roll program lets parents, students, and community members thank their favorite Pike employees for the jobs they do each day by making donations to the Foundation in their honor. Any person who assists in the education of our children can be honored including teachers, bus drivers, teacher aids, parent volunteers, coaches, secretaries, etc. Educators whose names are placed on the Foundation’s Honor Roll receive a small token of appreciation and a congratulatory note telling him/her of the donation. Contributions to the Foundation are returned to Pike schools in the form of grants for educational programs, so contributions to the Honor Roll Program has the potential to impact every student in Pike Township. What greater honor can there be for an educator? Nominations and donations are accepted throughout the school year. Contributions are tax deductible.
Grants
Each spring and fall, the Pike Township Educational Foundation offers thousands of dollars in grants to teachers and other educators in Pike Township to finance innovative ideas for helping children learn. Grants can affect a single classroom, a school, or the whole district. The Pike Township Educational Foundation offers several grant writing workshops before each grant cycle to help educators write and submit their grant applications.
