About Us

The Metropolitan School District of Pike Township is an award winning school district, widely regarded as an education leader for high academic standards, innovative educational programs, state-of-the-art facilities, strong parental and community partnerships, exceptional students and acclaimed educators. Our district is comprised of nine elementary schools; Central Elementary School, College Park Elementary School, Deer Run Elementary School, Eagle Creek Elementary School, Eastbrook Elementary School, Fishback Creek Public Academy, Guion Creek Elementary School, New Augusta Public Academy – South, and Snacks Crossing Elementary School, which serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our three middle schools; Guion Creek Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, and New Augusta Public Academy – North, serve students in 6th through 8th grade. We also have an independent Freshman Center at Pike High School. Three of our elementary schools; Eagle Creek Elementary School, Fishback Creek Public Academy, and New Augusta Public Academy – South, and one of our middle schools, New Augusta Public Academy – North, operate on a continuous calendar schedule. In addition, the Pike Preparatory Academy serves middle school scholars in need of additional support in the areas of behavior and/or academics, and high school students who benefit from an alternative learning environment.

In a city of more than 1 million people, Pike Township is an urban residential community with a population of approximately 72,000 and an assessed value of $3.7 billion. Our district, which is located in the northwest corner of the greater Indianapolis area, is home to families with diverse social, cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. Township residents enjoy close proximity to all the excitement of downtown Indianapolis. A 15-minute drive enables Pike residents to take advantage of the many and varied cultural, recreational, social and sporting events throughout the city. Our community has a well-balanced mix of light industry and varied retail and shopping plazas that offer a plethora of dining and entertainment opportunities. Eagle Creek Park, in the township’s northwest corner, provides a 5,000-acre nature facility for hiking, fishing, sailing and skiing. It also includes a 27-hole golf course, bird sanctuary, archery range, woodland/wildlife preserve and other family activities. The Pike Performing Arts Center (PPAC), located on the Pike High School campus, is a state-of-the-art facility that seats 1,500 in the auditorium and 150 in the studio theatre. Open since 1996, it provides educational programs for students and a subscription series of professional touring productions for the local community.

As with any school district, our ultimate success goes beyond the excellent programs, amazing educators, and outstanding opportunities we are able to offer, and depends largely on parental involvement and community support. We are fortunate to have a large presence of businesses within our district and throughout the surrounding area. Please view a list of our district’s current business partners by clicking on the Community Partners Channel at the top of the page. We ask that you keep these proud Pike Township supporters in mind as you shop and dine.
