Job Fair-aganza

Job seekers can meet with more than 65 potential employers at the second West Side Chamber of Commerce Job Fair-aganza Wednesday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pike Performing Arts Center, ( Pike High School, 6701 Zionsville Road.

The 2016 West Side Chamber of Commerce Job Fair-aganza is a free public service for job seekers and employers. “The West Side Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in our community and helping make west side businesses more successful. Helping people become employed does both,” said Will Lance, project manager, a Chamber board member and assistant general manager of the Wingate by Wyndham Northwest.

“We will have numerous jobs from management to call centers, package handling, installation to sales,” Lance said. “This gives job seekers many opportunities to find a new job, a new career and maybe a new life.”  All they have to do is come with a good attitude, bring an up-to-date resume’ and dress in business casual or professional business attire, he said.

For the first time, the Job Fair-aganza will offer seminars on interviewing skills, resume’s and job-seeking.

Companies committed to participate include Lowes Home Improvement Centers, Lowes Call Center, FedEx, AAA Motor Club, Olivet Nazarene University, MSD of Wayne Township, MSD of Pike Township, Speedway LLC,  Heritage Environmental, Assured Nursing, CCS Industrial Staffing, CINTAS, Damar Services, Eskenazi Health, Fastenal,  IndyGo, PACE, Securitas, Hilton Hotels, Indianapolis Center For Working Families, MSD Decatur Township Transportation Dept., IUPUI, Latin Workforce Connection, US Air Force, and many more.

“We expect more to come on board as the Job Fair-aganza gets closer,” Lance said.  

The mission of the West Side Chamber of Commerce is to promote vibrant, sustainable economic development and strengthen the quality of life in the west side community by:

  • Attracting, retaining, and connecting businesses;
  • Advocating pro-business public policies, and;
  • Assisting businesses in actively engaging in the community.
