What is FAFSA? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that families fill out to apply for financial aid, grants, loans, etc for college students. Your eligibility for student grants (don't have to be repaid) or loans (have to be repaid) depends on the information you imply on your FAFSA. In order for you to apply for the FAFSA, you must have an FSA id. This will give you access to the application. Typically, you don't need the FSA id to fill out the FAFSA however you do require one to sign and present the shape electronically.
