Pike Youth Performing Arts - After School Program

The afterschool performing arts program – Pike Youth Performing Arts is back!  This is the second year for the program.  It has been renamed and enhanced. This new and improved program will begin on January 24 and end on February 28 with a performance for family and friends.  All classes are on Tuesday nights!  Enrollment forms have been delivered to all Pike elementary and middle schools!  Visit the Pike Performing Arts Center website to access the enrollment forms (English & Spanish).

The MSD of Pike Township announces the opening of a search for a new Superintendent who will assume responsibilities on January 1, 2017.  The new leader will succeed Mr. Nathaniel Jones who has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2016.  The Board of Education has selected the University Superintendent Search Team with representatives from Ball State University, Indiana State University, Indiana University and Purdue University to assist in this process.

Pike to Host First Lego League Event

Sunday, November 8, Pike Township will be hosting the Indy NW – Pike Township FIRST Lego League (FLL) Qualifying Event from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Pike High School's main gym. FLL is a robotics competition geared towards grades 3-6. Six Pike teams, as well as other local elementary schools, will be competing. All are welcome to watch, so bring your family to cheer on these exciting teams. This free event is open to the public.

Are you ready for an introduction to theatre? For 7 weeks starting in January, the Pike Youth Theatre (PYT) is hosting an introduction to theatre program for middle school students which will lead up to a culminating performance at the end of the session. Grades 6-8 will learn basic acting and drama skills, as well as learn the basics of theatre in skits and plays.

Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre's The Nutcracker The Nutcracker

Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre presents The Nutcracker at Pike Performing Arts December 2-4, 2016. This full-length modern version of the holiday classic features the highly-talented dancers of G2, the pre-professional company go GHDT. G2 is joined by students from The Academy Of Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre and other young dancers filling the stage with movement and color! The Nutcracker follows the same overall storyline from the original, but with a uniquely different twist. This magical updated version portrays Klara as a homeless orphan girl who discovers the true meaning of the season through the gift and giving spirit of a homeless man. The Nutcracker is sure to add joy and cheer to your holiday season.

Summer Enrichment Programming

Hurry! Time is almost up! Pike Summer Enrichment registration ends on May 11, 2018!

The MSD of Pike Township will offer enrichment classes for students at the elementary and middle school level. Interested students will be charged a fee to participate. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided. Classes will take place Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. –2:30 p.m. between June 18 and June 29.

Miracle on 71st Street - Auditions On 10/29 & 11/3 from 6-8 pm

Auditions are being held on October 29 and November 3, 2015 for Miracle on 71st Street.  The show is on December 13, 2015 at 4 pm in the auditorium at the Pike Performing Arts Center.

STEAM Enrichment Programs for Elementary and Middle

The MSD of Pike Township will offer enrichment classes for students at the elementary and middle school level. Interested students will be charged a fee to participate. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided. Classes will take place Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. –2:30 p.m. between June 12 and June 30. All Enrichment classes will take place at Pike High School. Please review the available options for week #1, #2 or #3; complete the attached enrollment form; and submit with the appropriate payment to your child’s school as soon as possible but no later than May 12. Application deadline is end of school day on May 12, 2017.  Courses without the minimum number of participants (20 students) will not be offered and a refund will be provided.  Enrollment is first come first serve so turn in your enrollment application to your child’s school office as soon as possible! Enrollment is limited!

IU Science Fest Is Coming


This event will be the LARGEST open house event that IU has ever hosted.  Not listed on the attached flyer include Baxter Healthcare Pharmaceutical, Center for the Analysis of Social-Ecological Landscapes, IU Science Libraries, Molecular, and Cellular Biochemistry, and School of Public and Environmental Affairs.  This event is free and open to the public with no registration required.  They have activities for all ages! To learn more, visit them at


Pike Students and Alumni Selected for Simon SRP

Current Pike students Sarah Shado, Melanie Man, Brionna Tolbert and Kelsie Kimbrough along with Pike graduates Ariana Black (Tuskegee University) and Jordan Lyles-Holly (Hampton University) have been selected to participate in the 2018 Simon Summer Research Program (SRP).  The program is designed to increase the number of high school and undergraduate students from underrepresented populations pursuing biomedical and behavioral science careers by providing positive and meaningful firsthand exposure to these fields.  During the eight-week program, the students will be paired with a mentor and work on laboratory-based, computer-based and clinical research projects. At the end of the program, the students will present their findings as well as give an oral presentation. Former Pike student Amanuel Kibrom who is currently faculty in the Department of Biochemistry at the Duke University School of Medicine participated in the Simon Cancer Center Summer Research Program during the 2012 summer.

The Elvis Tribute is a concert celebrating the music of Elvis Presley, the greatest entertainer of all time. The show begins with the early rock-a-billy years and continues era by era ending with the Las Vegas concert years. This year's line up consists of the best Elvis entertainers in the world, Shawn Klush, Cody Ray Slaughter, Rick Saucedo, and Ryan Pelton.  Special Guests include eight time grammy award winning vocal group, The Blackwood Quartet, and The Fabulous Ambassadors Band. This is s a show you won't want to miss!

Red Cross Lifeguard Class

We are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with on-site skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete the initial online lessons of your training at least two days prior to your first on-site skills session, which is scheduled for September 29th at our Pike Aquatic Center.
